Experience Easter

For the fourth year both Amble Links and Amble First schools were invited to the event. Over 200 children came. For some it was the fourth time but some for the first. There were six stations around the church each with volunteers dressed in costume to tell the special story. The children visited each one and at the end were given a stamp to put on a card. As they could not visit the stations in order they were given the stamps in the order so that they could remember how the story unfolded. Most who had been before could remember something from previous visits. For example they all said they remembered the bread at "Remember me" and dipping their finger in the water at "Servant King". At the "Alone" station, which was the Garden of Gethsemane, they were invited to make little figures so that Jesus was not alone. This year apart from figures of people we had snails, snakes, wolves and even a dinosaur. Once again all the storytellers had a lovely time meeting all the children and telling the story. The children hear the story of Good Friday and share any sad stories they may have, but as Sister Penny told the children when they arrived, the Easter story has a....

	The Photographic Competition was very successful this year with a lot more entries. The categories were Transport and Nature. A big thank you for all the hard work from the organisers and also to the independant judges. Next years categories will be... Portraits and Landscapes in the UK.

Licensing of Revd John McDermott to the parish of Amble

The service was a wonderful joyous occasion. Great sermon from our Bishop Christine and lots of fun and happiness at the celebration in the parish hall afterwards. Thank you to all who came to celebrate this occaision with us, and all those who helped make it the success it was. We wish John and Jaki every happiness as they join us at St Cuthberts.
